ECCO’s History...

ECCO’s roots in defying convention run deep. 40 years ago in the small southern Jutland town of Bredebro, Denmark, Karl Toosbuy pioneered a revolution in footwear, choosing comfort over conformity. Tired of having his feet mold to his shoes, he charged that the foot should lead the shoe. A new type of footwear was born.

We believe in taking steps to invest in the future. At ECCO, we’re deeply focused on building a better shoe. Pioneering new fusions of advanced materials, breaking ground on new design methodologies, we build on a solid foundation to evolve a lighter, more flexible shoe for every day and every need.

Through the past four decades, ECCO has been known for the same values. This makes us a reliable brand to the consumer and a strong brand in the market. We continue to develop as a brand by finding, testing and implanting new technologies in our products.

Environment: ECCO cares about the environment. Each of its production and packaging decisions considers environmental impact. For example, each of their manufacturing facilities has its own water purification plant to ensure no toxins will be released into the environment and every ECCO shoe is placed in a box made of 100% recycled paper.

Technology: ECCO’s manufacturing process is designed to ensure maximum quality with total consistency. “From Cow to Shoe,” their commitment to controlling the entire process – from tanning the leather to their unique direct injection molding system – ensures that every shoe performs for your feet.
